Post War The Navy

Post War, The Navy

On 13th, November Bill Heaney and myself were drafted to HMS Anderson.  During my time at Anderson very little active service took place, the station just kept ticking over. Post war apathy I suppose. Most of the time was spent keeping the ship clean, or as we called it, ship-shape.

There was also plenty of sport and it was there that I really took up the game of hockey, eventually playing for the ships team. I also went on leave to a leave camp up in the hills at a place called Diyatalawa. All very enjoyable.
